Question by the hood: who's got one of those mini remote control indoor helicopters are they any good.?
Answer by Avondrow
Yes, I got one off the internet quite cheap. It took a while to learn to do anything other than go up and down, because they fly like a real copter, with pitch and yaw controls, so it's like patting your head and rubbing your tummy at the same time! Great fun once you've got the hang of it, though!

i have one of the nicer ones from brookstone(50bucks) it was fun for a few days but now i dont’ touch it. they only move in a constant foward motion so its hard to control, and they break easly, if i could i would take mine back, but for the first few days it was a blast
Do they take an age to charge? The one I was looking at takes half an hour to charge for about 10 minutes flying time which doesn’t look good to me…
Those cheap mini ones tend to not have the proper helicopter controls. You may find you can only control the rotor speed. If that’s all you want, fair enough, but if you want it to perform like a real helicopter, you may be disappointed.
I played with a friend’s a few times and couldn’t really get the hang of it. I think you ideally need quite a big room. I found it wouldn’t go the way I wanted it to but as the first answer says I reckon I could learn to control it with a bit of time.
I’d say that for the fun factor, it’s worth getting – but don’t expect to be completely in control when it comes out thr box!
Enjoy.
