Haven’t these assholes ever heard of “park-flyers”? They are tiny radio-controlled planes and helis that are relatively harmless. Granted, the weather needs to be perfect to fly them, but still…there is no excuse for flying even a .30-sized heli in a public park like that.
@datzfast flew and crashed every time. but i had the good since to fly at the club and by myself and one time whe she was getting away i just put her in a crash dive as to not leave the site.
the pro has insurance for this also evey club member is forced to have over a million in insurance and its very cheap. i used to have it. when i flew.
Guy says speedcontrol failure is very, very unusual.. That is wrong it happens all the time..happened to me at least a couple of times.

1st thing EVERYBODY should do before buying an rc heli is, get a simulator
that will save you a fortune in crashes learning the basics.
the fact you fly fixed wing is a plus, you have orientation skills that apply to both.
@chemicalBR0 YEP thats true, im dying to try helis(im fixed wing) but have stayed away because they can do a lot of damage to yourself and others if not set up or flown correctly, and as i have no heli experience i will wait, one day maybe tho as my nxt doors cousin flys 3d comps in the uk and helps organize the uk 3d cup and is sponsored by csm his name is Mike Eddingtom so would be in very good hands if i bite the bullet

if they were responsible pilots they wouldn’t have been flying in a park in the 1st place.
I only fly my helis at a flying club field that is closed to non members.
or in a farmers field where nobody goes (I have permission from the farmer)
and even then there is a million and one rules to follow for both your own safety and other people.
these guys were idiots end of story. there is no excuse for what they did. they were lucky not to kill the poor girl

And thats why you get an AMA card so your insured… Feel bad for the woman, but the fact is that most of us in the hobby are responsible with our aircraft and would rather slam it into the ground then let it even get close to hitting a person… The guy on the video saying that they rarely have electronics problems was lying his ass off… I have been flying for a over 12 years and have crashed over 10 planes due to interference or mechanical failure/defective parts. It happens all the time…
if they where responsible pilots they would have hung around and faced the wrap, i would of no matter what the outcome, i try not to fly where people can come over to me when flying, if they do i say stand well back and where i know they are and i will answer anything they want to know or show them my kit after my flight as i need to concentrate and dont want to clout them with a plane cos i dont know they are there or trying to talk to me, as they are not toys and in the wrong hands lethal.
@osyhaz One guy survived getting hit in his head by a trex 600 ESP and lived, the heli was at full throttle when it happend but he managed to duck hitting trottle cut, then the heli hit his walker loosing more head speed then hitting him in the head. He had the elevator reversed.

now every one is going to say we flyers are all bad once at a show a person was cut on the leg becase some littl kid kept saying daddy to the piolet when the piolet was not his son so they were faced with charges not the owner of the heli
People always come and try to talk or bother me while flying heli. It takes total concentration to fly a rc heli.

@watcher1727 It looks to me more like a 500 than a 600 because of the size compared to the asshole that was carring it, I dont think a person could survive a 600 on his head.

Nice to see the media giving unbiased views, and pointing out that most of us would never fly in places like that…. you dont always get to have your say.
Ths is why rc helicopters arnt toys, athough small they can be potentialy lethal,
example, a popular 450 class with carbon main blades, is just as dangerous as a flying ripsaw, they should not sell these to minors and should only be flown in non populated areas, and certainly not parks where people are around, fair enough if no one is at the park but peope walking around, common! dosent take a genius to work out the hazard here

@watcher1727 – I see by all your downloaded videos that you are an expert heli pilot. NOT!!! Align makes some of the best packages and highest quality RC helis you can get. I suggest you educate yourself before you make yourself sound like an idiot again.
