Trex 600 ESP 5 Blade Head Hughes 500D with 600mm FRP Blades
Video Rating: 4 / 5

www.iheartheli.com Model helicopters are exciting and very challenging to fly. The learning curve is steep, but In the challenge lies the reward. Are you up to the task? I am starting this Flight school to help others learn to fly these exciting machines.

Looking to get into the 600. Great flight.

  2. blackhawk438

@madsen339 Yeah, I own a few heli’s myself. I am telling you though that not just anyone can pick one up and fly like that. Nose in and etc takes years of practice to master

  3. madsen339

@mgav91 Go for the T-rex 600.. i started with smaller(Blade 400) and those are harder to fly…not as stable as T-rex600

  4. madsen339

@blackhawk438 .50 size like the T-Rex 600 is MUCH easier to fly than smaller helis… the bigger the more stable.

  5. danksmokaz

dude why the heck is it so loud..i know its electric but…why???

  6. PATROLMAN2056

    Perfect!…utter class, well done.

  11. fullyAsianeric

    SOOO FREAKIN STABLE!!!!!!!
    AND PRECISION LANDING!

  12. blackhawk438

@mgav91 I would tell you but I want to know weather you have had any experiance flying 450-600 size helicopters? These helicopters are not easy to fly and cost very eaisly about 1200-1400 dollars. They are not toys and can kill if they hit you at high speeds.

  13. mgav91

dude where i can buy these helis that big ???? and how much coast ?

  14. zabbafrangg

@yamajun6868phd:Very nice scale flying, man.i own an t-rex 450 pro,and after years of training with some other stuff i must say even the little align helis are very good products.stable, and from a really good quality.
hope you get your jetcat soon and if you have it dont forget to post a vid´.
    greet´s from westwood,germany.

  17. SashNone

Wery nice. I want to buy one. Can you tell me, what the difference between 2 blades and 5?

  18. aviatech22

do you use gyro on cyclic? very stable hoover is the five blades makes alot differrence compare to two blades in terms of handling?

  19. MichaelBlue72

One of the best scales helis around, period.

Thanks 99Sixer, 288 mm blades will not damage your heli, but it would be more stable with the longer blades. Consider that most of the lift is created by the outside few centimeters of the blade which are travelling faster than the rest of the blade. You shrunk it more than a cm which is why you either had to add rpms or pitch.

I would say fly em if ya got em! Next time get 315 or even 325 blades. The Align woodies are great. I fly frp blades, they can be had for pretty cheep now.

  28. 99SIXER

Hi I love your videos, very usefull, but I did have a minor crash, just main rotors blades damaged, my question is, without knowing I replaced the with shorter blades (from 315mm to 288mm), could this damage my heli (falcon 3D)? it seems to fly well, I did inreased the pitch a bit, though. Thanks

  29. hbk2flyer

The Mad Hawk looks like a nice starter FP heli. I like how the tail motor drives a shaft. If you have one already then great! Excede has become a pretty good brand.
I personally have never been able to get an FP heli to fly very well.

A good tip is to get a heli that you think you would want in 1 year from now. It will be challenging to get started, but later you will be glad. So you may want to go ahead and get a 3D machine for starters such as the Excede Blue Ray.

  30. daggerfrag

do you think a mad hawk 300 is a good beginner helicopter

  31. hbk2flyer

The hunter would be fun, and I started out with a coax once upon a time. It will fly very stable because of the two sets of counter-rotating blades.

The flight school lessons are not intended for coax helicopters, they are meant for single rotor helicopters that are much harder to fly.

0TOM007 is correct that a Honeybee Fixed Pitch is a good beginner single rotor heli.

I actually recommend skipping straight to the Exceed Genesis or some other 450 class heli with 2.4Ghz transmitter.

  32. 0TOM007

    Honeybee Fixed pitch

  33. volcomx484

do you recommend a e sky hunter for a beginner

  34. hbk2flyer

Well, believe it or not you probably already have an extra balance bar! For coax heli I have found many fun solutions using wire coat hangers. You can clamp some little fishing split leads on the ends and Bob’s your uncle.

I have used safety pins also for little bits here & there. Getting creative is key.

BBQ skewers and ping pong balls work for training gear.

  35. Haxorxeverything

omg k, so i got a Apache 9088, and on my first flight i broke the balance bar, :( , my question for you is where can i get traning gear or list items i need to make it OR if your really nice send me one :)

  36. dangerousprimate

i did the same thing, there are 4 other ways..cut down tree(nieghbours no much like)climb the tree,(not a chance)all of a sudden growing fifty feet tall(unlikley)try to calmly talk it down for its own safety(mmm never thought of doing that?) ; )

  37. hbk2flyer

Glad ou got it down. How did you do it?

  38. dangerousprimate

i did, and got it down with a good outcome. still works! thanks for the sub by the way.

  39. hbk2flyer

Yea I saw the heli way up in the tree. Perhaps one of your kitties would be so kind as to fetch it!

I got my plane down one time with a bean bag tied to a long piece of chord and managed to snag it.

  40. dangerousprimate

its done! did you see me shove my heli into a tree? im only learning…but its a laff.

  41. hbk2flyer

Right on dude. I love your cat vids. YouTube can be a pisser at times.

  42. dangerousprimate

im trying to subscribe, but youtube is pissing me about!! great vid.

  43. Forcemaster2000

Some good info there! I never thought about scooting around on the floor to get used to the controls…a good idea, wish I’d known about that before crashing my copter awhile back on it’s maiden flight!! LOL

  44. kapitanC

good info for beginner. love the cd model heli that u make. nice.
